Living Resonance FAQs

What is Living Resonance?

Living Resonance is a nervous system support and coherence-based practice that blends evidence-informed tools (including HeartMath®-informed HRV work), breath, emotional awareness, and nature-based practices. I work with individuals and families who want more steadiness, resilience, and practical tools for everyday life.

Who do you work with?

I work with:

  • adults who feel stressed, overwhelmed, or burned out

  • parents who want better tools for co-regulation and emotional resilience

  • children and teens who are sensitive, anxious, dysregulated, or overloaded

  • families who want a calmer home climate and more connection

What issues do people come to you for?

Common reasons people reach out include:

  • anxiety, stress, overwhelm

  • emotional reactivity or shutdown

  • difficulty winding down or sleeping

  • transitions, school stress, social stress

  • feeling “stuck” in nervous system survival mode

  • wanting more calm, clarity, and self-regulation skills

Is Living Resonance therapy or medical treatment?

No. Living Resonance is educational and supportive and is not a substitute for medical care, psychotherapy, or emergency services. If you’re experiencing severe symptoms or safety concerns, I encourage you to work with a licensed professional alongside supportive practices.

What happens in a typical session?

Sessions vary by person, but often include:

  • a brief intake/check-in

  • simple coherence practices (breath + attention + emotion)

  • practical nervous system education (in plain language)

  • optional HRV/HeartMath®-informed biofeedback (when appropriate)

  • a plan you can use at home between sessions

For kids, sessions are gentle and engaging—often involving movement, visuals, stories, and hands-on tools.

Do you use HeartMath®?

Yes, I use HeartMath®-informed tools and HRV biofeedback when it’s a good fit. HRV can help people see what their nervous system is doing and learn how to shift their internal state in real time.

Where do sessions happen?

My office is flexible. Depending on what works best, we can meet:

  • outdoors (parks, trailheads, walking paths, open spaces)

  • in your backyard

  • in your home (when appropriate)

  • in a private indoor space (when available)

I may have a brick-and-mortar office soon, but I prefer working outdoors whenever it’s practical.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes—virtual sessions are available for education, coaching-style support, and coherence practice. Some people like to start virtually and then transition to outdoor or in-person sessions.

What areas do you serve?

I’m based in Los Alamos, NM. Most in-person sessions happen in Los Alamos and surrounding areas. If you’re outside the area, virtual sessions may be the best option.

What ages do you work with?

I work with children, teens, and adults. For younger kids, I keep things short, playful, and body-based. For teens and adults, we can go deeper into patterns, stress physiology, and practical change.

How many sessions do people usually need?

It depends on your goals. Some people come for a one-time HRV assessment and a set of tools. Others prefer a short series (3–6 sessions) to build consistency and support long-term change.

Do you offer HRV assessments only (without ongoing sessions)?

Yes. HRV assessments can be a standalone service. Many people find it helpful to get a baseline, learn a few tools, and decide what level of support they want next.

Do you offer group sessions or workshops?

Yes. I offer small group sessions and workshops (and I’m building more community offerings). If you have a group—parents, educators, a workplace team, or a friend circle—reach out and we can design something that fits.

What should I bring to an outdoor session?

Comfortable shoes, water, and layers for weather. If we’re using HRV biofeedback, I’ll let you know what to expect and what to wear (usually just something comfortable).

What if I or my child doesn’t like being outdoors?

That’s okay. Outdoors is an option, not a requirement. We can meet indoors or virtually. The priority is what supports you (or your child) best.

How do I get started?

You can start by booking:

  • a brief consult (to talk goals and fit)

  • an HRV assessment

  • or a 1-on-1 session
